Tips for a good nights sleep in the summer

The long-awaited summer is just around the corner, and going to the beach, shopping in the town, or go out with your friends and have a drink on the terraces, or just rest at home with a good ice cream.

However, there are nights when the heat persists and prevents us from resting to be able to face the next day.

Do not worry, because we are going to give you a few tips to try to make the best of those hellish nights.

A nice cold bath or shower

Try to take a cool shower before going to bed, as this will not only relax you and allow you to fall asleep more quickly, but it will also relieve you of the heat. However, avoid drying yourself with the towel, since rubbing the towel with our body generates more heat.

Drink a lot of water

It is one of the things that we should never forget during the day, and especially in summer, to counteract sweating. Increasing water consumption in summer will keep us well hydrated and will also have good consequences on our sleep. However, do not abuse the water just before going to sleep, or the urge to go to the bathroom will interrupt your rest.

Cotton sleepwear

Although what we most want is to take off our clothes to sleep, this type of clothing is more beneficial for hot nights. Being naked can make you feel warmer as moisture evaporates between your body and the sleeping surface.

Avoid excesses

Although summer is also a time of excess with food and drink, it also has consequences on our rest. Heavy meals involve digestions of the same type and therefore generate more heat in our body, and alcohol increases blood flow to the skin and raises our body temperature.

Therefore, although throughout the day we give ourselves the odd whim, we must avoid consuming this type of food and drink in the hours before going to sleep.

Correct ventilation

It seems quite obvious, but by opening the windows hours before going to sleep, we will be cooling the atmosphere of our room and allowing the breeze to circulate. However, during the central hours of the day we must avoid having the windows open so that the house does not get too hot.

Now that you have these little tricks in your hand, we can only wish you a happy rest and above all that you enjoy this summer to the fullest, because you’ve earned it.
